Politics always disappoints me that’s why I don’t delve into the minutiae of the goings on especially during campaign season. Campaign season, you would think, should be a time to show voter how you as a candidate is worthy of the vote. Highlight the wonderful things about you and make the voters believe in you as a leader. I don’t think demeaning your opponent and resorting to negative tactics should be a part of campaigning, but I am deluding myself if I believed that. It is totally against the idea of fair play that we try to teach our children. Is it any wonder that more and more of our children (and adults too) are disillusioned by the political system?
I loved John Edwards when he first ran for president. I was sorely disappointed that he didn’t make it. This time around, I didn’t have much hope for him from the get go. Hillary and Barack just outshoned him in every aspect. When it got down to just Hillary and Obama, I was still torn as to who I liked better. I wanted to root for a woman president, but Obama’s ideas just kept hitting close to my heart.
I think with the recent round of negativism, I have finally made up my mind who to vote for. It’s too bad. I think Hillary has been getting some bad advise. I think someone told her she has to play hard like a man if she is to be elected. So she has been playing hard and dirty. It’s disappointing and it makes her look like a number one witch. I is sad that her campaign would stoop so low as to play on people’s fears and insecurity. Maybe this just shows how desperate the Clinton campaign is getting. Sad.

Although I can’t vote for him, I like Obama too. I believe that the U.S. can start to clean its very bad image and regain its lost reputation in the international stage with Obama as its President. Go Barack
like you, jmom, i am also tired of Barack and Clinton attacking each other. they both have the same stance but disagree on how to institute them … maybe i will vote for the underdog!
and like you JMom, I am also not so much into politics. sometimes though, I chance upon Hillary on television in a broadcasted campaign and I though she was a very engaging and charismatic person. she presents her ideas very clearly and very convincingly. sayang naman ano, if she only zeroed in on her strong points and let fair play do its work, she might be better off.
Hi bill, nance and jet! Thanks for visiting
You know, I was really rooting for Hillary, because I love Bill, I like her ideas (she and Obama are really more alike than they claim), and I love the idea of having a female president finally! But all this negativism is just turning me off. I understand its politics, and they have to do this to win votes. Well, they don’t HAVE to do it, it’s just how they do it and no one, it seems, can get away from it.
Well, you’re right about the two candidates being more alike than they are different. Obama moves me with his speeches too but I have to go for Hillary. I still think she’ll do a much better job of putting the country back on course after the damage done by the George “Dumbya” administration. But whichever candidate I vote for will be negated by hubby’s vote—he’s Republican, unfortunately
