Spring has definitely sprung in the Carolinas and am I glad! We have been spending as much time outdoors every time the sun was out and last week, I spent a lot of time in this position: looking up. Want to know why?
What's up in the sky?

We’ve already gotten a nice surprise from our garden when we found our inadvertent winter garden that I got some of the most tender turnip greens ever that I cooked in a pasta dish. That was delicious!

The second surprise in our garden? This absolutely gorgeous peach tree which always blooms first before its leaves come on. Every time I go in the backyard, I can’t help but look at this beauty. Last year it only had about six blooms. Yes, we counted because we also ended up with three peach fruits in the summer. This year, it looks like this, against the Carolina blue skies…

Peach Blossoms

Aren’t they just beautiful? If we got three fruits last year, can you just imagine how many we’re going to have this year? I can’t wait!

  1. Those peach flowers are pretty! Is it easy to raise peach trees? I have always been afraid of planting trees…our apples are dying (they gave us good fruits the past two years).

BTW, you are a recipient of the Happy 101 Award here: http://kusinanimanang.blogspot.com/2010/04/happy-101-award.html

You sure are one of those people who make others happy :)

  2. Wow those trees are absolutely stunning!

I love peaches but never thought a peach tree could be so beautiful. And to have them in your garden! Simply beautiful!

  3. Well that’s just not fair! I’m in the Carolina’s and I haven’t seen my trees bloom yet *jealous*! That’s beautiful and thank you SO much for leaving a comment and supporting my quest to get to Africa on my blog!

  4. This is my first time seeing the peach blossoms. Lovely shots.
