This is not a huge blog and I don’t get thousands of visitors daily, so I do appreciate your visits and getting comments. The do-follow links and comment luv are my way of showing my appreciation to fellow bloggers who take the time to drop by and leave a comment.

If you found your way here via the do-follow links or the comment luv directory, you are most welcome to leave your comments.

All I ask is, please make sense. Here a few tips/advice on how to leave a comment that won’t get deleted or marked as spam …

  1. Do not copy a sentence from my content and paste it as a comment
  2. Do not copy an unrelated phrase from elsewhere and leave it as a comment
  3. Try to at least read through my post and leave a relevant comment. I.e. if I’m talking about food, say something about it, not something about an iPad.
  4. Sometimes I will leave a prompt to help you out at the end of my post. Something like, ‘what do you think?’ or ‘what would you do?’ kind of question. Go with it.
  5. While I enjoy a compliment as much as everyone else, “Good post!” is not a comment worth publishing.
  6. Finally, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all or take it up with me privately. My email address is on the ABOUT page.
  7. Same thing with advertisment offers or link exchange proposals. Please send to my email address

Thanks again for visiting my blog, and I hope to hear from you soon!

To my fellow bloggers, how do you feel about some of the comments you get on your site?

All the points are valid here but at one point I would beg to differ. If I am reading a post in which someone is depressed then I can encourage that person using some quotes. I found that even when these rules are followed some of the bloggers do not approve the comment even if it is meaningful or related to the post.

  2. Tammy, I love getting inspirational quotes especially as they relate to what I am talking about. As for some related comments not coming through, it may just be that it got relegated to the spam folder.

Many bloggers have put all their blog comments under moderation. I don’t want to do that yet as I feel it defeats the purpose of a blog which is supposed to encourage dialog. All I’m saying is, stay on point with the conversation.

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment!

  3. Thanks for keeping the ComLuv links do-follow. I hope we can all have the common sense to follow the rules of the house in terms of commenting. In the end, I believe that comments that are not genuine are not worth much in the Google algo anyway…..

I definitely agree with you. Comments should have a sense that can give at least others some ideas which can be useful to them too! It’s not that your just give your “appreciation” in which you can probably post your link. This is a very bad habit. You should give your appreciation to the author by reading his/her blog.

  5. I agree with you ! I have my own blog and you can’t (well yes you can) imagine how long i have to work on my content AND to fight spammers the rest of the day.

People are now just using bots to post on blogs, with very poor and bad content inside the comments…

    Good luck from France !

  6. You just have to really think about what idea you are trying to express.Things can be said in hundreds of different ways. That’s the beauty of the English language.

  7. Yes it can be very hard moderating comments, but in the end it will pay off, since visitors will appreciate a well kept on topic blog.

  8. A very reasonable set of guidelines to follow…

  9. You really have to keep on top of this to fight off crappy comments… I’ll bet you see an improvement early on, but start getting lousy comments again. I find that about one out of three comments to my blogs are helpful, add value etc… Most of us are smart enought to see the difference between ‘human’ comments and ‘bot’ comments too. We need to stay ahead for the game.

  10. I created a facebook fan page for a friend. I want to leave comments on it as my personal profile though. How can I do that without giving up being an admin of the page?

  11. I have recently stumbled across the Tumblr of an old friend and wanted to leave a surprise comment. I have never used Tumblr and have no idea how. There is no “leave comment” link anywhere on her page, even though people leave comments.
