Redesigning or remodeling your home does not always mean having to break the bank. There are dozens of little renovations you can do by yourself or hire a redesign company to do inexpensively, and they can really perk up the way your home looks.
One of the renovations we are considering for our home this year is the bathroom. How do you know when it’s time to redesign your bathroom? There are some telltale signs that you need to do something to perk it up. In our case, they are glaring signs such as:
- You’re Embarrassed By It
If you find yourself constantly apologizing to your guests for your bathroom, that’s a sign that it’s time to do something new with it. This is especially true if you’ve remodeled or redesigned other areas of your house and your old bathroom just seems dingy and unpleasant in comparison. You want to be just as proud of your bathroom as you are of any other room in your house, and that is a perfectly valid reason to look up some good redesign options or request a free design consultation from a local designer.
- It is Cluttered
One of the best reasons to pursue a redesign is to help get more organized. This is one area where simple things can make all the difference. Get brand new towel racks, install some more nice shelving, and clean out the cabinets so they can be used more efficiently. Even just buying a few bathroom organizers can brighten up the room and keep it tidier. You don’t have to go all out on this one – just a few touches to make organization easier. You’ll be surprised by how much more pleasant your bathroom looks when everything is in its place.
- It is Outdated
If the decor in your bathroom hasn’t changed since 1950, it’s no wonder you’re considering a redesign! Depending on your budget and how much you want to change, you could fix this with anything from a new coat of paint to replacing the faucets to installing a more modern shower. Updating is especially important when it becomes a matter of efficiency, not just looks – it’s easy to justify installing a new toilet when the old one barely works.
Do these signs sound familiar? Then a bathroom remodel may be right around the corner for you. Take a look at your bathroom and identify three things you would want to change about it if you could, then do a little research to find out how much it would cost. You may not be able to remodel it all at once, but you can get started!
