I saw this on the Today Show yesterday. Actually, my husband called me from the other room to tell me what was on. He knew I would be interested in seeing the segment being a blogging mom and trying to make money from it.

Ann asked if it is possible to for moms to make money from blogging. I can attest that you can make money from your blogs but I also agree with the comment that it takes time to start generating income from your blogs. There are not quick and easy way, but the possibilities are definitely there.

Me, I only started thinking about making money from my blogs about a year ago. Whenever I tried balancing our budget, I noticed that we were always about $300-500 short. So I started considering getting a part time job but I hated to not be home in the evenings. With me working outside the home and the girls at school, the evening is really the only time we have to catch up and reconnect with each other. Then I started noticing how more and more moms were talking about how they were making money from their blogs so I decided to try out some of the ideas they were sharing. Was I surprised to find out some of those tips actually work! The rest, as they say, is history.

Well, not quite yet. I’m still learning the ropes and I can’t put as much time into blogging as I would like, but I’m getting there. And yes, my budget deficit? Blogging got that covered :)

There were some great information on the segment. Watch the video below.

Y’all can keep the debates going regarding the economy, the war in Iraq and all the other things dominating the media. I am not an expert on them and I only hold a lukewarm interest in listening to others hash them over to death. But whether it’s news worthy or not (some naysayers are grumbling about this on the original article), I want to post here that Malia & Sasha got a pleasant surprise this week. On Wednesday when they got home from school, they found this cool play set waiting for them!

White House swing set

I think it is such a refreshing change to see the White House with a playground in the backyard just like most American homes. I’m not sure how much time the girls will be able to spend playing on it once the paparazzi starts focusing watch on the playground, but it’s a good idea anyway. It’s every child’s dream come true and these girls are living the ultimate!

Good for them and good for their mom and dad for thinking of this. Bah humbug to all the naysayers!

Thanks to Our Awesome Planet for the heads up on this: No Reservations – Philippines. Ever since we took cable TV out of our home I have been out of touch with the going ons of my favorite cooking and travel shows.

I subscribe to the OAP feed via email and it’s my way of eating through the Philippines vicariously through Anton and family’s dining adventures. So today I opened my subscription expecting to read about another delectable restaurant I probably will never get to try out, I instead found out that No Reservations has been to the Philippines and the show (episode) aired just a couple of days ago on the Travel Channel. The show went there because Augusto Elefano managed to convince Anthony Bourdain to take No Reservations to the Philippines with this video.

I was also excited to find out that Anthony was hosted by Joel of Market Manila, a food blog that I have been a great fan of for years. If anyone can talk ‘lechon’, Joel is the man. The guy is as obsessed about pork as Bourdain. He’s built his own roasting pit and has been cooking up one pig after another in his quest for the perfect lechon, after all!

I am excited to learn that the video of the show is in YouTube. Yeay, YouTube! So I’ll rush home later and watch the whole thing! I’d watch it now but I’m at work :P

Anton of OAP was kind enough to compile the links below for related articles about this episode.

So I ask my daughters, my readers, do you think there is a difference to the question posed by this customer to Verizon? Watch the video below and let me know what your answer is.

You would think it would be a pretty simple question, but apparently not.
