Archive for the “marriage” Category

I was tagged by Cheh, the Moderately Confused Pinay in Deutschland for this meme a while back and I am finally getting around to it today.

Here are the following guidelines of the meme:
1. First name: (a photo would be nice)
2. How and where did you meet?
3. Characteristics
4. Your plans 20 to 30 years from now.

This is a meme about our better halves. Or worse halves whichever way you want to look at it :) No matter which way you look at it, they are our halves and without them we cannot be whole.

I always joked that the reason I married him was because he promised to always wash the dishes for me. Friends and family told him he was crazy to want to marry me. MY friends and family warned him. The poor guy went for it anyway, claiming he was getting a great deal. I happen to disagree. I got the better deal.

The Blogkadahan topic this month is all about the things that we are thankful for. I am thankful that we have been relatively healthy, the girls have been doing well in school and as things go, I think we have all been happy. This year has been good to us.

This being November when my anniversary and husband’s birthday fall along with Thanksgiving, I decided to thank the little things he does for me all year. They are, after all, what makes the big picture.

Sometimes days go by and I am oblivious what day of the week or month it is. I mean I know whether it’s a Monday or a Tuesday, or if the 5th or the 15th, but I don’t always remember significance of certain days. The significance of my days involves what I have to do to meet a deadline at work or what bill is about to come due or what projects the girls have due for school or what activity they have coming up.

This morning I woke up to kisses, which, though I wish I could say is an everyday ritual, is unusual. I got kissed and wished a Happy Anniversary!!! Today, we have been married for 16 years. 16 years!! :D

I love you, after all these years……

and yes, I still get butterflies in my tummy when you kiss me.

I talked to my husband first before I ever met him. He had called looking for my sister’s fiance’ who was, coincidentally, his half brother. Although the conversations was brief, he claims that even then he thought me attractive sounding. I don’t even remember that conversation until years later when I was cleaning some papers and I had written down on a piece of paper, “Mike from North Carolina called for James”.
